Aieru’s rocky meadow is home to an array of beautiful flowers and plants that attract visitors of all kinds; insects, birds, hungry mammals, and even humans. However, it can be a dangerous place - it lies exposed to harsh elements and the ground is uneven and difficult to traverse. In the winter it grows bitterly cold without offering much shelter, and sometimes floods under heavy rain. It takes a certain level of tenacity to live contently in such a place, and Aieru takes great pride in being its caretaker. He feels it is his duty to guide any who find themselves in his area, be they humans, animals, or other ghosts. Whether they are seeking food, shelter, or just a pleasant visit, he does his best to ensure that they find what they need and stay safe along the way. He has a keen sense for danger, is quick to do his best to keep his area and its residents and visitors out of harms way, and won't hesitate to ward off unwelcome visitors.

Though he isn’t particularly talkative, he is a good listener and often has good advice to help those who are lost - figuratively or literally. He enjoys the company of others, listening to their stories and experiences, and genuinely cares about the safety and wellness of those in his vicinity. Visiting different areas of the plains biome as well as rugged mountains thrills him - he loves a good hike and seeing different landscapes. As a friend he is dependable and provides a sturdy rock to lean on when help is wanted or needed; whenever you call for him, Aieru will come to help as best as he can.

Impressions

• Aieru’s vibration is steady and strong, conveying certainty and almost acting as a warning to any ne’er-do-wells who may be about. The air around him smells sweet of grass and wildflowers.

• He is around the size of a larger-small dog - like a spaniel.

• His bells are enchanted; they ring out to the lost so that they make seek Aieru out for guidance and help in finding their way. He frequently uses these to guide lost hikers back to a trail or safe spot, or to find animals who may have been stuck in a tricky spot. Esk who are lost may hear them and seek him out for a transformation or perhaps advice.

• The texture of his fur is like sheep’s wool; dense, coarse, warm, and waterproof. His nature feature pokes out here and there as if he has rolled in ryegrass.

• Aeiru’s design is inspired by the Joaldun, a character that is part of Basque folklore and culture. They wear red kerchiefs and bells to ring in the carnival season, and in some stories are said to warn others of danger or scare away evil spirits.
